4110 Flow Logger

Part Number: 68-4110-001Product Details

Ultrasonic, noncontacting sensor. Ideal for weirs and flumes in heavily contaminated streams
The 4110 Ultrasonic Flow Logger provides non-contact measurement of the flow over a weir or in a flume. The ultrasonic sensor is mounted above the flow stream, and transmits a sound pulse that is reflected by the liquid surface. Elapsed time between sending a pulse and receiving an echo determines the level in the channel. The 4110 calculates the flow from this level reading and its built in conversion for the specified primary device. Automatic compensation for air temperature ensures measurement accuracy.

Because its sensor does not contact the liquid, the 4110 provides long-term dependability with no scheduled maintenance. The Isco 4110 is not affected by chemicals or high concentrations of grease, suspended solids or silt in the flow.

All setup of the flow logger is performed using Flowlink Software. You can retrieve stored data on-site with a laptop PC or an Isco 581 Rapid Transfer Device. Isco Flowlink Software produces a variety of informative graphs and reports from stored data.

• Large, versatile memory - stores over 100000 readings of flow, rainfall and sample data.
• Easy setup using Flowlink software (required)
• Easy to upgrade - non-volatile "flash" memory makes it easy to upgrade firmware without opening the enclosure.
• Rugged, submersible enclosure (NEMA 4X, 6 and IP67)
• Up to one year battery life using standard alkaline lantern batteries.
• Variable Blanking Distance eliminates false echo problems caused by obstructions such as manhole rungs or the top of a flume.

Rugged, Dependable Sensor
The 4110 uses a single-head sensor sealed in a rugged, corrosion resistant enclosure. The sensor transmits a sound pulse which is reflected from the surface of the flow stream. The elapsed time between sending a pulse and receiving an echo determines the level in the channel.

Accurate Under Tough Conditions
To ensure maximum accuracy, a built-in sensor automatically compensates for changes in air temperature. To improve performance in the presence of turbulence and foam, the 4110 automatically adjusts amplifier gain in response to echo strength. And, Isco's Variable Blanking Distance feature eliminates false echo problems caused by obstructions such as manhole rungs or the top of a flume.

• Flow measurement in streams containing harsh chemicals, grease or suspended solids
• Sampler Pacing and Activation - a 4100 Series Flow Logger signals a sampler to collect flow proportioned samples, and can also trigger a sampler based on flow, rainfall, or time.
• Treatment capacity analysis
• Inflow and infiltration studies
• Combined sewer overflow studies
• Long-term river and stream gauging
